The photo shows Northern Captain Caroline Berry presenting the Richardson Trophy to a delighted Cheshire Captain - Jane Burke.

It was an exciting end to the season with Yorkshire, Lancashire and Cheshire all in a position to be able to win the coveted Richardson Trophy.

The match between Yorkshire and Lancashire resulted in a halved match which meant Yorkshire ended the season with 3 1/2 points - unable to match Cheshire's 4 match points.

In the final match fixture, Lancashire played Durham, won the match and had a great 4 points from their matches - equalling the points total by Cheshire.

All down to individual match wins

With Lancashire and Cheshire having the same number of points, it came down to individual games won and halved.

Cheshire retain the trophy as they had 25 1/2 game points to Lancashire's 21 1/2.

Our heartiest congratulations to Cheshire and commiserations to Lancashire and Yorkshire who put up such a strong fight.
