A great 2 days at Slaley Hall

First published: Wednesday 8th of October 2025

Our End of Season was a great success with almost 100 ladies descending on Slaley Hall in Northumberland.

With the tail end of Storm Amy, it made playing conditions difficult on the Sunday with strong winds and even stronger gusts! We were all thankful there was no rain to accompany it.
Conditions on Monday, playing the Hunting course, were much better - the wind had died down and the sun even tried to come out a few times.

Some excellent scores

Despite the trying conditions, some teams returned some great scores with the best of those by the team from Kendal Golf Club, Cumbria - Rosie Waller, Jean Newhouse, Cheryl Dickinson and Sue Howell - scoring 148 points over the 2 days. Our congratulations to them.

An enjoyable Sunday evening

After the rigours of golf on the Sunday we all descended on the Kielder Suite for dinner and to get together with friends old and new. Our thanks for everyone's support of the raffle which made £350 for Northern funds.

We must give our thanks for a well organised two days to our Northern Secretary, Jo Tinsley who was there to greet us, hand out cards, draw the raffle and collate all the scores as well as managing to play the courses alongside her team.

We now look forward to our next event at Mottram Hall, Cheshire next April. Bookings for this event open on 25th October.
